In addition to enjoying the Lilac Festival, we are encouraging members to volunteer some of their time to support the Optics Outreach tent.

We are signing up volunteers for 30-minute set up and tear down shifts, and 90-minute outreach shifts, every day from 10:30am - 8:30pm. We would like to invite all members of the Optica Rochester Section to volunteer. No prior experience is necessary; basic training on how to run the demos will be provided when you arrive for your shift.
All volunteers will receive a “light and lilacs” t-shirt (design attached) and the tent will be stocked with food and drinks. Details about volunteer parking and further instructions will be sent later this week.

Optics at the Lilac Festival!
The SPIE and Optica Student Chapters at The Institute of Optics are excited to host our Optics Outreach Tent at the Rochester Lilac Festival in Highland Park, May 12 - 21! Our tent will feature interactive light, color, and optics demos for all ages with the theme of “light and lilacs.”
